Position overview
The Scholarly Information Services (SIS) Division supports the university through the ANU Libraries, Archives & Records Management, ANU Press, Digital Scholarship, Privacy, Copyright and Data governance activities. We are at the heart of learning and research at the university, connecting the ANU community to knowledge and providing access to ANU research to the world.
CartoGIS Services, part of the Digital Scholarship team, is responsible for providing high level advice, guidance and support in the design, development, and production of custom maps, managing a large map collection, delivering training in mapping and spatial analysis, and providing advice on the use of GIS and mapping in research, education and outreach across ANU. ~~.~~ CartoGIS Services aims to raise awareness of the application of GIS through the development of a community of scholars in which geospatial analysis and visualisation are used to inform trans-disciplinary research and education.
You will promote the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology in ANU research, by delivering a suite of GIS training modules and providing advice on the use of GIS and spatial analysis in research across ANU. You will also supervise the day-to-day operations of the CartoGIS unit, including delivery of cartographic material.
