Salary Information Salary commensurate with experience with a minimum of $59,000 annually Department Summary
The mission of the Division of Student Affairs is to create solutions for a healthier community by fostering student success. There are 12 functional units within the Division of Student & Academic Affairs: Center for Student Life, Career Readiness Center, Center for Academic Performance, Office of Care and Civility, Registrar, Financial Aid, Testing and Evaluation Services, International Services, Office of Disability Access, and Student Assistance Resource Center.
Position Overview
The selected candidate will provide high-level administrative support to executives by conducting research, handling information requests, and performing clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, managing websites, arranging travel, and scheduling meetings. This person will be expected to work independently with limited direction while interacting with both internal and external stakeholders. This is included but not limited to Deans, Department Chairs, accrediting agencies, consultants and vendors. Discretion and confidentiality are key tenants of this position.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An understanding of and the ability to apply customer service principles in an academic setting

• Managerial experience in a college or university setting
• Extensive experience with word processing, spreadsheet, calendar, email and database management programs
• Master's degree preferred
Required License / Registration / Certification Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional weekends as required for divisional events. Remote work available up to 2 days per week when projects and office traffic allow.

Job Duties
o
Exercise independent judgment in bringing information and issues relating to the affairs of the division to the attention of the Vice Provost and other divisional leaders. Will research issues and formulate solutions to problem solve on behalf of the Vice Provost and other executives.
o
Provide administrative support for Disciplinary Appeal Hearings, including working directly with students and their advisors to gather documentation. Assist system legal team to manage documentation for hearings, if applicable.
o
Project management for Division of Student Affairs executives for items related to accreditation for multiple outside accrediting agencies, university procedures affecting all students, and items affecting the entire division of student affairs.
o
Coordinate workflow, communications, processes and procedures for all work done in direct support of the Vice Provost.
o
Manage departmental website and student service web-based information.
o
Manage and provide guidance for divisional councils, including mentoring, facilitating the professional development of council leaders and the allocation and monitoring of divisional council budgets.
o
Assist the Vice Provost in data collection and report preparation for strategic planning, operational assessments and business plans. These items will be of a both internal and external nature. Examples are items that are sent to accrediting agencies, UNTHSC Provost or President, external and internal auditors, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, Deans and divisional team members.
