Your new role

Our PF&D team are seeking a Senior Engineer (Control Systems & Energy Efficiency) to join our friendly and highly skilled team.

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and analysing the Building Management Control systems and Energy Efficiency systems. You will partner with service managers to remotely control plant all plant and equipment that is needed for the daily operational use of the systems. This role will play a proactive role in identifying opportunities to streamline and improve operations.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the data on site maps, dashboards and other relevant information is up to date on the Building Management Systems (BMS) platforms.
  • Supporting stakeholders by providing operational information from the BMS systems and/or from operational hardware.
  • Reviewing and optimizing building operations to enhance energy efficiency.
  • Perform trend analysis on critical plant and equipment.
  • Producing analytical reports relating to business and system performance to stakeholders
  • Create a BMS alarm methodology which coincides with business requirements.
  • We are looking for someone with:

  • A relevant degree qualification in industrial automation, control systems, electrical, electronics, mechanical, mechatronics or computer systems engineering with experience in building or industrial automation and extensive industry experience in building or industrial automation; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training
  • A current White card or willingness to obtain.
  • A current WA C Class Drivers Licence
  • The ability to travel within state to other Curtin University sites as required.
  • Previous experience using Schneider Electric Ecostruxure Building Operations, Johnson Controls Metasys Building Automation and or Tritium Niagra Building Management System platforms.
  • Strong understanding of operations of BMS hardware and Mechanical Infrastructure connected to BMS systems.
  • The ability to update site plans, schedules, alarms, alarming strategies, and other parts of the BMS system to cater for daily operational needs.
  • Sound problem solving skills, where you are able to identify faults, analyse and come up with a suitable solution within the BMS system and report findings.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered. Only in limited situations will visa sponsorship situations be considered.
