Position InformationReporting to the Sr. Executive Director, Central Programs, the Senior Director of Annual Giving will provide leadership, strategic direction, and planning for UC Riverside's Annual Giving (AG) unit. In Annual giving they will provide leadership in designing, implementing, and evaluating UC Riverside's Annual Giving program whose purpose is to build a long-term base of support for the University. The Senior Director will create, implement and evaluate a comprehensive, multi-year plan to increase strategic solicitation of financial support from alumni, parents and friends of the University. Please note: University of California career employees who have passed their probationary period will receive priority consideration for this position. If a qualified pool of internal candidates is not identified, qualified external candidates may be considered at the discretion of the hiring department. This is a three- year, renewable contract position which includes the same employee benefits afforded career employees. Campus presence will be required with hybrid accommodations. The budgeted amount for this position is up to $120,000.

Minimum RequirementsExpert level skills in maintaining confidentiality. Expert knowledge of all aspects of the location, including current issues of concern for both the campus and/or throughout higher education/healthcare, generally. Expert knowledge of the location, including its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure. Expert organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills. Expert project/program management skills, including skills in setting and meeting program/project goals and objectives within budget and time constraints. Expert working knowledge of all aspects of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques. Expert written and interpersonal communication skills, including political acumen, to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies. Expert skills in making persuasive and compelling presentations of goals and objectives for a location in order to secure gifts. Expert knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc. Demonstrated experience in developing and managing budgets built on an institution's strategic mission, as well as programmatic planning. The ability to inspire confidence as well as to motivate others, and the ability to excel in the framework of a highly complex research institution with significant aspirations. Excellent leadership/management skills to select, train, mentor, evaluate and motivate staff.
