FTE: 1 FTE (working 37 hours per week)

Duration of Contract: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract

Salary: UH8 £42,155 pa to £44,737 pa with potential to progress to £53,353 pa on achieving designated skills and experience

We are recruiting two positions for this role.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Senior Digital Skills Developer will lead the implementation of digital capability initiatives across academic schools and/or professional SBUs. You will work closely with the Digital Capabilities Manager to ensure initiatives are strategically aligned, relevant and appropriate across a range of abilities, and of the highest quality. You will have responsibility for leading on the design and delivery, and for the accurate collection of feedback and data used to measure impact and inform future planning and decision making. In collaboration with the Digital Capabilities Manager, you will lead on the implementation of the Digital Capabilities Strategy initiatives including design and delivery of training sessions (in person and online) for staff and students. You will also specialise in the organisation and management of the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to support the effective engagement of students and integration with other student facing systems and you will liaise with senior colleagues in academic schools and professional SBUs (Technology Enhanced Learning Champions, Associate Deans Learning and Teaching, Departmental Heads) to understand local requirements and ensure specialist skills and areas of knowledge are accommodated.

Skills and experience required

You will hold substantial proven experience in leading digital skills development initiatives, from consultation through to implementation and evaluation, in a large or medium sized organisation as well as substantial proven experience in a wide range of educational technologies including a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), to support best practice in learning and teaching, and the efficient administration of academic programmes. Substantial proven experience in leading the design and delivery of training sessions (in person and online) across one or more areas of digital skills development, including delivering to small and large audiences with varying levels of knowledge, skill and ability is also essential for this role.

Qualifications required

You will hold a minimum of a Post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject (Education, Training, Educational Technology, Digital Technology, Multimedia, Information Technology) or equivalent level qualification or substantial proven experience of doing a similar job.
