£30,487, rising to £32,982 Full Time, Permanent - Professional Ser

The Directorate of Finance and Legal Services are seeking a Senior Credit Controller to manage all University sales ledgers to ensure a low level of outstanding and irrecoverable debt and to fully manage collection of all sales ledger debts from the University's appointed debt collection agency.

The role involves

  • Managing the collection of sales ledger invoices to ensure low levels of irrecoverable debt, and managing the University's relationship with UK & overseas debt collection agency
  • Working closely with Heads of Finance in the University to ensure that teams help with managing their debts
  • Liaising with Faculties and Directorates over customer invoice queries, and that ledgers are ready for month end closure
  • Presenting debt reports, collation and analysis of monthly debt figures for the Team Leader
  • Negotiating with students / customers on a one-to-one basis to arrange individual instalment plans, to include pastoral responsibilities for enrolled students
  • Responsibility for approving credit notes and authorising refunds to customers.
  • You will have

  • Degree or equivalent
  • Significant credit control experience, including supervisory experience
  • Experience of managing debts which have been passed on to Debt Collection Agencies
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail, working to deadlines and the ability to manipulate and present financial data
  • A proactive approach.
  • Interviews are expected to take place on 11th December 2023, there will be a skills test prior to interview for this role.
