  • About the role The Senior Consultant, Cyber Advisory applies his / her strong background in Information Security to provide direction and guidance to RMIT.

    The Senior Consultant, under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Cyber Design, develops; implements and maintains a comprehensive information security management program. This includes defining key security indicators, processes and standards. The Senior Consultant works across RMIT global to identify, measure, and report on the state of Information Security based on information assets. The role promotes Information Security awareness across the University.

    The Senior Consultant has a wide knowledge in matters of cybersecurity, has deep understanding of current threat landscape and demonstrates ability to assess cyber issues within a multi-tiered environment and determine a path to resolution.

    The role conducts security governance oversight across Business as Usual (BAU) functions and Projects / Program of Works to ensure environment operates in an effective and secure manner.

    The Senior Consultant delivers Information Security Advisory support throughout RMIT and achieves continues improvements through technical expertise and execution of operational processes.

    To be successful in this position, you'll have:

  • Extensive experience with Information Security systems and processes

  • Extensive experience in areas of IS Industry Standards; IS technologies (eg, Identity Management; Threat Intelligence; Threat Management; Cloud Security; End-Point Device Protection; Malware control Management)

  • Excellent communication skills; able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff

  • Exceptional teamwork and collaboration expertise

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and delivery a quality service to the University

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders

  • Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
