The Role/Te Mahi

We have an opportunity for a seasoned Senior Business Analyst or a person at intermediate level ready to take the next step in their career, to join the team that is driving one of our largest systems forward.

This role represents a great opportunity for you to apply your skills in a practical way and directly create positive impacts in the digital experience of our staff and students. You will gain career-defining experience working at levels of complexity and scale.

This role will suit a great problem solver and a self-motivated, proactive individual who relishes the opportunity to get involved in the full lifecycle of meaningful and career defining IT projects.

We want an IT professional ready to utilise their sector knowledge and superb requirement-gathering skillset to contribute across a number of business initiatives and the successful delivery of new tools and systems that will become part of the University's information technology fabric.

Work will include: • Designing solutions that will maximise value to stakeholders and the organisation. • Delivering analysis of enterprise systems including process, data, reporting and application-level work. • Working with key stakeholders to facilitate scoping or discovery workshops. • Identifying and prioritising user experience needs and defining required application behaviour /performance. • Contributing your expertise to large and complex projects. • Working with and ensuring alignment with key vendor roadmaps.

Skills And Experience/Kā Pūkeka Me Kā Wheako

Ideally, you will be an experienced analyst who enjoys leveraging your exceptional communications skills working with a wide range of stakeholders on complex and varied problems. You will be well organised and calm under pressure and bring your confidence to augment the team environment.

To succeed in this role your toolkit will include: • Qualification in a relevant discipline or recognised certification appropriate to the role. • Demonstrable experience in requirements gathering, elicitation, tracing, and management. • Proven ability to analyse and interpret complex information, deal with challenges creatively, conceptualise business solutions and systems outcomes. • Excellent written communication skills delivering a range documentation for target audiences. • A strong digital experience focus, with a will to deliver great customer outcomes. • Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and communicate at varying levels. • Excellent workshop or group facilitation skills. • Strong self-management skills, and the ability to manage your time and priorities effectively. • Demonstrated project experience and a good understanding of methodologies.

Exposure working in a squad-based agile software enhancement delivery environment would be warmly received.

This is a full-time, permanent position. Remuneration is negotiable for the right candidate.
