This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled Senior Biostatistician to join our team at the recently launched Pandemic Sciences Institute and to develop a career in international health. You will play a pivotal role in the work of our successful, international research group under the leadership of Professor Sir Peter Horby.

You will provide support in research design, methodological development, and the analysis and reporting of observational and intervention studies on major public health threats including monkeypox, plague, Lassa fever, Ebola, and COVID-19. You will work with a team of researchers to optimize statistical approaches and to take a leading role in the analysis, reporting and visualisation of data, including the International Severe Acute Respiratory and emerging Infection Consortium (ISARIC) COVID-19 clinical database. You will be given opportunity to develop an academic career in international health and will be encouraged to foster further collaborations with scientists across the globe.

It is essential that you hold a PhD or DPhil in statistics or a closely related discipline together with practical biostatistics and/or clinical trials analytic experience, with a good knowledge of all aspects of clinical research methodologies. You will have an excellent understanding of statistical methods, especially advanced multivariate modelling, generalized mixed modelling, meta-analysis, and advanced survival analysis methodologies. Proven experience in using statistical packages and working with large datasets is also required. You should be able to work collaboratively within a team, be highly motivated and be able to work independently on your own initiative and be able to plan and manage multiple project workloads within given deadlines.
