Position Description

The College of Nursing and Health Innovation is the largest not-for-profit College of nursing, with online and in-person students. This leader will have supervisory responsibility for the Chairs of the Department of Undergraduate Nursing, the Department of Graduate Nursing, the Assistant Dean for the Office of Enrollment and Student Success (OESS), and the Assistant Dean of Simulation and Technology. The Department of Undergraduate Nursing encompasses Prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), RN-to-BSN, Certificate in Telehealth and Health Informatics, and Honors Degree programs. The Department of Graduate Nursing offers a variety of programs for a Master of Science in Nursing, Post-Baccalaureate and Post Master's Nursing Certificates (Nursing Educator Certificate, Nursing Administration Certificate, Graduate Gerontology Healthcare Certificate, and Telehealth and Health Informatics Certificate), Doctor of Nursing Practice, and Ph.D. in Nursing. The Sr. Associate Dean will provide mentorship, support, and supervision of the chairs of each department and the Assistant Dean for OESS. Required qualifications

  • Doctoral preparation in nursing or a related field with significant experience in nursing education, research, and external funding. If doctoral preparation is not in Nursing, one must have a Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Experience leading and managing complex organizations and/or systems.
  • A Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing education.
  • Eligibility for RN licensure in the State of Texas.
  • The ability to creatively approach changes in the healthcare marketplace so that the College's educational programs are agile and meet the demands of healthcare agencies.
  • The capacity to collaborate in problem-solving and in the design of innovative programs of education for the CONHI.
  • Demonstrated ability to obtain external funding for innovative educational and/or research programs.
