Senior Applications Analyst (Multiple Opportunities)

Infrastructure & Change Professional & Business Support Grade 7 - £38,205 to £42,978 per annum, dependent on experience

Digital Technology Services (DTS) is a large service focused on enabling, implementing and supporting a wide range of technology to meet the needs of the University community. We are looking to recruit a new Senior Applications Analyst to support our work and ambitions.

The Senior Analyst posts sit across the broad range of applications that DTS supports, and the successful candidates will be allocated to an area based on their expertise and preferences along with the needs of the area. You would be responsible for the maintenance and development of one or a small number of applications, working with colleagues and suppliers to support business requirements.

We welcome all applicants fitting the essential criteria. We have a number of posts in the Applications Team, each with a particular focus so would be particularly (but not exclusively) interested in hearing about your skills one or more of the following:

Web

  • Back-end and/or front-end coding skills, our current platforms include Sitecore, WordPress and Cold Fusion
  • Experience in developing for the web e.g. Dotnet, C#, PHP, JavaScript
  • Knowledge/experience of source control and release pipelines, we currently use Git and Azure DevOps
  • Data and Integration

  • Experience in data transformation and integration.
  • Experience of all aspects of data management, including an understanding of data governance.
  • Technical skills using Data Warehouse and/or Data Lake related technologies.
  • Experience maintaining custom reports such as SSRS.
  • Virtual Learning Environment systems

  • Experience in system administration and development in virtual learning environment and teaching related technologies e.g. Blackboard, Panopto, Turnitin, Pebblepad.
  • Experience of learning tools interoperability for integrating student facing systems.
  • Student Management

  • Experience of developing student information systems - SITS e:Vision functionality.
  • Strong skills using web technologies in support to developing SITS: e:Vision
  • Specific SITS StuTalk (RESTful) XML, JSON or experience to integrating applications using API's.
  • Business

  • Experience in system administration and development in HR systems, their ancillary technologies and in a mobile environment.
  • CRM

  • Experience working with CRM, Dynamics and / or Power Platform
  • Non-team Specific Knowledge

  • Experience of scripting SQL methods.
  • Experience in maintaining ETL processes inc. SSIS
  • Experience in a number of web technologies and frameworks e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, bootstrap
  • Experience of IT Service Management and source control
