    About Chancellery International

    Led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor International, Chancellery International provides strategic guidance and expert advice for internationalisation and global engagement, through the formation of international partnerships, provision of region-specific strategies and strengthening of the Universities international funding, networking and mobility opportunities.

    About the Role

    The Senior Adviser, International Partnerships is a key role to support the development and delivery of the Global attributes of University's strategy, Advancing Melbourne 2030. Reporting to the Manager, International Partnerships, this role focuses on allocated countries/regions and has responsibility for the coordination and ongoing development of an efficient and effective international visits and agreements management program.

    Responsibilities include:

  • For allocated regions/countries and institutional partnerships, produce timely and focused intelligence briefs and reports. Undertake research and analysis to inform international engagement and partnership decision making.
  • Lead the delivery of international visits, events, and other engagements, including outbound delegations.
  • Lead an efficient international agreements management program that delivers timely outcomes.
  • Effectively contribute to plans, strategies and programs for region/country specific institutional relationships and alliances, including fostering academic and associated governmental relationships, and support their implementation.
  • About You

    The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, written and cross cultural communication skills, the ability to understand complex issues and liaise effectively with external parties and University staff at all levels. You should also have experience in supervising, motivating and managing the performance of staff, to create a positive team culture and achieve outcomes.

    You will also have:

  • A degree with relevant experience; or extensive experience and broad knowledge of the field; or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience and/or education and training.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead activities involving a wide range of stakeholders and to support senior staff while exercising sound judgement, diplomacy, discretion, and appropriately managing confidential and/or sensitive information.
  • Experience in building effective work relationships internationally, with an understanding of cross-cultural sensitivities.
  • Demonstrated experience in process and/or protocol development and improvement.
