Salary Information Commensurate with experience Department Summary

The Institute for Translational Research is devoted to bringing novel diagnostics and interventions to patients and families suffering from neurodegenerative diseases, fostering translational research in neurodegenerative diseases at UNTHSC, and Create solutions for a healthier community. Our team spans basic “bench-top” science, clinical research, community-based research and clinical trials. Our translational approach is intended to foster discovery and expedite those discoveries toward the benefit of those suffering from brain disease. A particular emphasis of ITR is the development of personalized (or person-focused) medicine for Alzheimer's disease.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for providing mid-level administrative support to executives and faculty associated with the Institute for Translational Research (ITR).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced written communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others.
  • Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
  • Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.
  • Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.

    Administrative Support for Director of Operations

    Assist with preparing Research Participant Payments – daily payment envelopes, reconciling of dispersal logs (daily)

    Calendar Management / Assistance for Associate Director of ITR (daily – as needed)

    o

    Calendar Management / Assistance for several ITR faculty (daily – as needed)

    o

    Faculty Travel Arrangements (as needed)

    o

    Assist with Conference Room Calendar Management

    o

    Record Management of Core meetings

    o

    Handles information request

    o

    Manages clerical functions with additional job duties assigned as needed
