Salary Information Commensurate with experience Department Summary

The Institute for Health Disparities (IHD) conducts research, training and community outreach in the areas of minority health, health disparities and workforce diversity. Constituting the IHD are the Texas Center for Health Disparities, National Research Mentoring Network, Texas CEAL Consortium, Diversity Training Programs and the NIMHD Endowment. The National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN) is a nationwide consortium of science professionals and institutions collaborating to provide students and scientists across all career stages of research in the biomedical, behavioral, clinical, and social sciences with enhanced networking, professional development, research resources, and mentorship experiences. The National Research Mentoring Network- Resource Center (NRMN-RC) is housed at the University of North Texas Health Science Center and provides a web-based mentoring tool, www. nrmnet.net, to facilitate real-time mentor/mentee engagement and networking.

Position Overview

The Senior Administrative Coordinator will assist the Principal Investigator (PI), Co-Investigators, Program Manager and other program personnel in overall management of the program and reporting of the National Research Mentoring NetworkResource Center.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others.
  • Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
  • Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.
  • Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Preferred Qualifications

    BA/BS required with minimum of 2 years related experience. Ability to plan, lead and manage projects within deadlines. Excellent time-management skills, including attention to detail, ability to problem solve. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in multi-disciplinary settings, as part of a team or independently. Outstanding oral and written communication skills. Ability to analyze data and prepare presentations and publications. Ability to establish and maintain positive professional relationships with External and Internal Program staff and administration, faculty, staff and students across the campus and at other institutions.

    Job Duties

    o

    Coordinate events and schedule meetings; prepare meeting documentations and agenda; prepare logistics for conferences and meetings.

    o

    Arrange travel and reimbursements for program leaders and personnel to local, regional and national conferences.

    o

    Process program expenses and assist with budget tracking/monitoring.

    o

    Manage filing systems, recording information, inventory of materials, data tracking, updating documents, contacts, correspondence or other materials.

    o

    Assist with reports, data, and documentations relating to NRMN and MyNRMN.

    o

    Address user support issues and provide instructional support for NRMN community.

    o

    Assist with testing platform features and services.

    o

    Prepare training materials and content (written and video) for individuals, groups, and for video platforms.
