Position Summary Information
The University of Southern Indiana (USI) is seeking a full-time, benefit-
eligible Senior Accounting Assistant. This position will perform a wide
variety of functions associated with processing payments to vendors for goods
and services, verifying procurement card purchases and reconciling travel
Essential Functions include but not limited to:
Review travel reimbursement requests and travel card expenses according to
Assist with administration of University procurement card reconciliation
Review purchasing card exception reports and verify accuracy and
completeness of transactions.
Resolve incomplete, unmatched and unapproved invoices.
Enter select vendor payments into Banner Finance.
Identify and route vendor invoices for processing.
Other duties as assigned
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
High school diploma/GED with a minimum of three years office experience
required. Previous accounting experience or post-secondary education in
accounting or related field preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication
Ability to make independent judgments and work with a diverse group of
University and external individuals required.
Ability to work independently with moderate supervision while also
functioning as a team required.
Ability to calculate mathematical equations of addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division including interpreting percentages,
fractions, and decimals required.
Knowledge of microcomputers, word processing, spreadsheet, and electronic
mail software required.
Previous experience with accounting systems preferred.
Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with
