Senior Academic Research Leader in Child Development and Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)

The Department of Education at the University of Oxford wishes to appoint a Senior Academic Research Leader to lead in the area of Child Development and Special Educational Needs (SEND).
You will provide intellectual leadership in the area of child development and Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) and establish the strategic direction of a major research programme in this area. All academic staff in the Department are expected to have a high level of research activity and you will enhance the Department's REF profile through your publications and research funding, as well as contributing to the intellectual leadership of the research groups associated with the Masters in Child Development and Education.
You will be at the forefront of recent developments within your field, and your work will combine empirical psychological or educational research with theoretical analysis and will contribute to debates about the relationship between education, child development and SEN with a focus on early years and/or primary school aged children.
You will be a leading authority in social scientific research in the field of child development and SEND with an outstanding international reputation for research. You will have the ability to link research in the area of child development and SEND to larger theoretical debates in education and social sciences with an in-depth knowledge of your specialism to enable the development of innovation and new understanding in the field. Essential skills for collaboration and teamwork are required for the postholder in this role, as well as having an excellent reputation in teaching and academic supervision in the area of child development and SEND.
This post is full time and offered on a permanent basis.
