Position Information

The FAST Work Force Administration Unit provides payroll and human resource support in a shared service center environment. Under the general supervision of the Work Force Administration Manager, the Senior Academic HR Analyst will work with our clients to provide analytical and administrative support in the areas of the academic personnel process including onboarding, offboarding, time reporting, payroll oversight, position management, personnel updates, promotions, case management / escalations (benefits, leave balances, accruals, etc.), leaves administration, and academic recruitment for our client base. The incumbent will be a primary point of contact for actions processed in UCPath, AP Recruit, and have an understanding of eFile Plus, academic policies and corresponding union contracts. They will work directly with Deans, departments, Academic Personnel Office, and Graduate Division to provide necessary proactive support, and to provide guidance regarding the academic personnel process including appointments, merits, promotions, and recruitments for our clients. The Senior Academic HR Analyst will partner with the Work Force Administration Unit Manager, Work Force Administration functional team, Academic Personnel Office, Graduate Division, clients, stakeholders, and other Payroll Shared Service Centers, to implement Lean Six Sigma principles to identify opportunities to continuously improve the effectiveness, accuracy, and delivery of services that the Work Force Administrative Unit provides to our clients.

Budgeted rage is $68,500 - $83,000.

Experience Experience Requirement

Experience working in WorkFront or similar CRM platform. Preferred Experience working in a high volume, multi-function shared services/team environment. Preferred Minimum of 5 years of related experience. Required Experience effectively executing project management related functions. Required Experience working with PeopleSoft or similar enterprise-wide automated payroll systems. Preferred Previous related work experience in academic personnel. Preferred Experience using UCPath or other Peoplesoft programs Preferred 4 - 7 years of related experience. Required

Minimum Requirements

Excellent organizational skills, time management skills, and ability to multitask with demanding timeframes. Ability to analyze complex management issues, develop project scope and solutions, give professional advice to senior officials and make critical decisions regarding personnel. Knowledge of trends in academia, especially in areas of academic planning, human resource management and administration. Requires thorough knowledge of and ability to apply/interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR. Strong judgment and decision-making skills; verbal, written and active listening communication skills. Uses strong interpersonal and service orientation skills in interactions with customers and colleagues. Thorough knowledge of systemwide and organization policies, union contracts, procedures and practices that govern academic HR administration. Excellent critical and innovative thinking to address moderately complex issues and present nuanced analyses. Ability to use discretion and maintain strict confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of organization and college goals, priorities and values and the legal and human implications of decisions. Advanced skill level with the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, Word, Power BI, Power Automate). Thorough knowledge of all payroll processes, policies, and procedures; knowledge of organization-specific computer application programs. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. Problem solving, problem identification, reasoning skills and ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.

Preferred Qualifications

Thorough understanding and experience with implementing process improvement methods and tools.
