The Office of Professional Development and Student Outreach within the College of Education Academic Success Center (located in Rivers 138) seeks 1 Self Help Student Office Assistant to work between 10-20 hours per week in a fast-paced office setting.

Work responsibilities include helping with various office projects and tasks, and a variety of ECU College of Education recruitment, professional development, and outreach events, workshops, and programs.

Duties will include but are not limited to; data entry, answering phones, filing, making photocopies, shredding documents, typing, printing labels, organizing materials, delivering documents/materials across campus, and other duties as needed. Must be flexible and willing to help in any area of the Center.

Must possess proficient computer technology and software skills and be a quick learner. Ability to use basic office equipment e.g., (desktop computer, multi-line phone, copy machine, scanner, paper cutter, lamination machine), and to work independently with little supervision is appreciated. We appreciate those with initiative, curiosity, problem-solving & multi-tasking skills, organization skills, professionalism, and positive work ethic. Students must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.

The College of Education Academic Success Center is open M-F from 8am to 5pm (student will work around their class schedule). Student will work primarily when the Center is open between 8am – 5pm however, the position may sometimes require occasional evening and weekend work.

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)

· Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.

· Must have good written and oral communication skills.

· Must have the ability to think critically, take initiative, research, and problem-solve.

· Must have proficient customer service skills and the ability to multi-task.

· Must be able to plan, organize, multitask, and prioritize.

· Must be adaptable and a quick learner.

· Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.

· Confidentiality is REQUIRED.

· Appropriate office/business casual attire required, no leggings, yoga pants, ripped clothing, hats, nor face jewelry.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be an ECU Student.

Must be able to work 10-20 hours per week.

Must be able to lift/carry at least 50lbs.
