We have a vacancy for a Security Officer within the Facilities Division, Lancaster University. The successful applicants will be based at Chancellors Wharf Student Accommodation in central Lancaster. The post is part time working an average of 33 hours per week. The hours are evenings only working 11 hour shifts from 18.00 to 05.00 on a Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Chancellors Wharf accommodation closes down over the summer for maintenance. During this period the successful applicant will be required to work with the security and portering team on our main Bailrigg Campus.

Facilities are responsible for all property services on behalf of the University, including cleaning, grounds maintenance, security, catering and general upkeep of the Estate.

You should be hard working, reliable, willing to learn new skills and possess excellent customer service skills. Security/Portering experience is not essential but desirable with experience of working in a similar environment. You should be educated to GCSE level in Maths and English and be committed to high standards, able to work on your own initiative and have a flexible approach and attitude to solving day to day problems.
