We have a vacancy for a Security Officer within the Security Operations team which is part of the Facilities Division. The post is offered on a fixed term basis and is for an initial period of up to six months. The post is full time working an average 42 hours per week on a 24 hour, 365 days shift rotation working 12 hour day and night shifts. Due to the extended hours and the shift pattern the post attracts additional financial benefits.
The emphasis of the role is to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff and visitors at all times. You will be a committed, friendly and be customer focused. You will have a working knowledge of health and safety and be comfortable using your initiative whilst at the same time being a strong team player. Flexibility and integrity are essential requirements of this demanding post in a culturally diverse campus.
You should be educated to GCSE level in Maths and English, reliable with an excellent attendance record and be committed to high standards. You should also have a willingness to undergo development training.
It is essential that you hold a full driving licence that is valid in the UK.
