About The Role

Falmouth Exeter Plus is the service delivery partner of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter. We deliver shared services and facilities for both partners in Cornwall underpinned by close collaboration with Students Union, the combined students' union for Falmouth and UoE, to ensure that the interests of students and staff are at the heart of everything we do. Both institutions are expanding their teaching and research operations in Cornwall at a pace. A fantastic opportunity has come up to join our dynamic security team as a Security Compliance and Safety Officer.

On a day-to-day basis, the responsibilities of this role will typically involve developing and maintaining departmental risk registers ensuring relevant risks feed into the corporate risk register and the creation of written standard operating procedures (SOPs) policies and procedures.

This role would suit a self-motivated individual with an eye for detail and who is able to quickly develop a working knowledge of the regulatory requirements of security services.

About You

Reporting to the Head of Security Services the successful candidate will be a highly driven, well organised individual with attention to detail.

Providing administrative support to the Head of Security Services and the wider security team the ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Undertake departmental risk assessments and to understand risk level, significance, and scope
  • Review, update, monitor and maintain risk registers, risk assessments and audit programs
  • Monitoring compliance with law, regulations, and internal policies
  • Devise and implement working procedures to ensure best practice across the service
  • Prepare monthly management reports and data analytics; KPIs, progress reports etc.

    This position is offered on a 37.5 hour a week, full time, permanent contract, predominately working Monday – Friday, however, there is a need for flexibility to support those working on the later shift patterns.
