Job description

The Research group Self-Organizing Soft Matter in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) invites applications for the position of

Secretary / Management Assistant (0.5 fte)

Join our dynamic Research group Self-Organizing Soft Matter as a part-time Management Assistant, 0,5 fte! We are seeking a talented individual to provide secretarial support and play a critical role in ensuring the smooth running of our research group.

Self-Organizing Soft Matter (SMM)

The solutions to the major societal challenges that we face require highly sophisticated, adaptive materials, custom-tailored in composition and in structure, which can be reconfigured for optimal performance and recycling. Soft matter science is ideally positioned to address the fascinating fundamental research questions related to this radical transformation as soft matter is intrinsically adaptive, due to the weak and often tunable physical interactions between the constituent building blocks. The TU/e group of Self- Organizing Soft Matter studies self-assembly processes in (biological) soft matter aiming to reveal structure-function relations and to translate such fundamental insights into rational design strategies for novel functional and recyclable soft materials.

Job description Join our dynamic SSM group as a Secretary/Management Assistant and help us reach new heights! As the central contact point of the group, you will play a critical role in ensuring our team operates smoothly and efficiently.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including managing and monitoring the agendas of the staff members, processing emails and taking necessary actions, preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes, creating correspondence and scientific texts in English and Dutch, arranging and organizing internal and external appointments, and providing support for planning business travels and processing travel permits and expense claims of all group members.

You will also be the go-to person for all inquiries from staff and students, and will welcome guests and visitors with warmth and hospitality. In addition, you will be tasked with providing practical information and assistance to guests, visitors, and staff members, and helping to arrange TU/e administrative procedures and hotel accommodations as necessary.

Furthermore, you will play an important role in the planning, preparation, and support of group and consortium meetings and gatherings, as well as social events of the group. You will collect and process management information, maintain the group archive, keep up-to-date with the registration of personnel and publications (InSite, Pure, Hora Finita), and maintain the internal and external website of the group.

If you're ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role in a dynamic environment, apply now and become a key player in our successful SSM group!
