The scientist (M/F), recruited for 30 months from February 1, 2022, will carry out her/his activities at IRCER under the direction of Samuel Bernard, Director of Research at the CNRS and coordinator of the MATRIX project on: - the synthesis of preceramic polymers - the infiltration of fiber preforms by PIP - the conversion of polymers into ceramics confined in the porous structure of the ceramic preform - the characterization of materials at each stage of their development.
The scientist (M/F) will contribute to the achievement of an ASTRID-type research project (Specific Support for Defense Research and Innovation Works) coordinated by IRCER (UMR 7315 CNRS-University of Limoges). This project entitled: “Microcrystalline SiC/Si3N4 matrix composites by a hybrid PIP-CVI process and compatible with high temperature applications (MATRIX)” falls within the scope of research activities in axis 4 of this institute. The scientist (M/F) will be responsible for analyzing and discussing the results obtained during her/his post-doctorate and promoting her/his work through patents, the publication of article (s) an /or her/his participation in scientific events. He/she will carry out collaborative work with Masters and PhD students on the development of ceramics from preceramic polymers and will organize quarterly project progress meetings.
The scientistr (M/F) will work at the Institute for Research for Ceramics (IRCER, UMR 7315 CNRS) in Limoges which has 200 staff members. IRCER includes 4 research axes: Axis 1: Ceramic Processes Axis 2: Plasmas and Lasers Processes Axis 3: Multiscale structural organization of materials Axis 4: Ceramics under environmental constraints as well as a Carmalim characterization platform.
Eligibility criteriaThe selected scientist (M/F) must hold a doctorate in materials science or even in inorganic chemistry. Knowledge of ceramic precursors and ceramic materials will be an added value. The selected candidate will demonstrate good interpersonal skills, be able to work in a team and will be fluent in French and English. He/She must also have good experience of participating in the collective operations of a team and organizational qualities to meet the calendar constraints of the ASTRID program.
