The Material Research Department has leading expertise in irradiation experiments with GeV ion beams and operates several beamlines as user facility. Research topics include ion-beam induced effects and defects in different material classes, radiation hardness of materials, materials under extreme conditions, and ion-track nanotechnology.

Your tasks:

Supervision of ion-track nanotechnology related activities

Provide technical and scientific support for internal and external users in activities related to ion-track technology

Coordinate and execute irradiation campaings devoted to ion-track nanotechnology

Be responsible for the laboratories and equipment related to ion-track nanotechnology activities

Leading contribution to an active research program related to nanowire- based samples and beyond

Manage existing and establish new national and international research collaborations

Apply for grants and third party funding.

Your profile:

PhD in materials science, physics, or relevant fields

Postdoc experience in nanotechnology related activities

Experience in nanomaterial's synthesis and characterization methods

Experience in electrodeposition

Experience in experiments at large scale ion facilities

Sound knowledge of material's characterization methods, especially SEM, is required

Knowledge of ion-track nanotechnology is advantegous

Experience with quantum materials is advantegous

Strong research background and hands-on experimental skills

Experience in student supervision

Previous collaborations with industrial partners are advantegous

Excellent command of spoken and written English.
