Academic position Scientific Assistant

The Department of Animal Nutrition and Rangeland Management in the Tropics and Subtropics (490i) is looking for a scientific employee as soon as possible

The tasks will include: • Developing research proposals and conducting research with focus on ruminant nutrition and grazing ecology in livestock systems worldwide; • Contributing to English master courses on animal nutrition and natural resource use in global livestock systems; and • Supervision of Bachelor, Master, and doctoral students. Applicants must have a master degree or a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline such as agricultural, animal, and veterinary sciences, or range and grazing ecology. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in modern approaches to study the nutritional status of animals, their grazing behavior, and/or to the analysis of related datasets. He/she demonstrates good skills in English language (both, written and oral) and scientific writing. Experience in field research (in tropical countries) is advantageous. Qualified women are strongly encouraged to apply. Disabled persons with equivalent aptitude will be favored. There might be a possibility of sharing the position and a temporary extension.
