The Swiss Centre for Applied Ecotoxicology (Ecotox Centre), located at Eawag in Dübendorf and EPF Lausanne, is committed to providing the expertise and scientific tools to measure, assess and minimize the environmental risks of chemicals. The main goals of the Ecotox Centre are to provide expertise and services to public agencies, industry and academia, to offer further education to professionals in the field of ecotoxicology, to serve as a platform for the coordination of interdisciplinary projects and knowledge transfer, and to conduct applied research in aquatic and terrestrial ecotoxicology.

Scientific assistant Position in Applied Soil Ecotoxicology (100%)
We are seeking environmental scientists with a strong background in soil ecotoxicology, with special emphasis on bioassays and biological indicators.
The position is focused on developing, validating and applying ecotoxicological methods for environmental monitoring and quality assessment; assist in standardization of relevant bioassays; and assist in developing technical reports to communicate results to stakeholders. Projects will be carried out in close collaboration with Swiss federal and cantonal agencies, as well as academic and industry experts in the field. The successful candidate will be required to conduct standard ecotoxicological bioassays, assist in preparing data and in the writing of reports and scientific papers, present results in national and international meetings and scientific conferences.
Candidates should have a master's degree in environmental sciences with a focus on ecotoxicological effect assessment in soil. The candidate is expected to organize, plan and conduct laboratory work independently, contribute to field campaigns and work efficiently as part of a team, have excellent verbal and written communication, as well as time management and organizational skills. Fluency in spoken and written German (and/or French) and English is required.
