Job description:

  • Scientific services in research and teaching within the Climate Lab especially in the field of atmospheric modelling with focus on land- atmosphere interactions and climate extremes
  • Present and publish research results at conferences and in high-impact journals
  • Supervise undergraduate and graduate students
  • Collaborate with researchers from Berlin University Alliance and the geoscientific competence network Geo.X
  • Requirements:

  • Completed university degree and PhD in in the field of physical geography, climatology, meteorology or related areas
  • Experience with fluid dynamic models and/or weather forecast models, e.g. ICON, WRF, Palm or OpenFOAM
  • Programming skills and experience in working with large data sets as well as scientific high-performance computing
  • Research experience, ideally with publications in journals, good scientific track record and/or the potential to attract external research funding desirable
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Ability to work in teams
