    The Opportunity

    The Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (FMNHS), is the largest faculty at Monash University and offers the most comprehensive suite of professional health training in Victoria. We consistently rank in the top 40 universities worldwide for clinical, pre-clinical and health sciences.

    Contributing to the global health care agenda, the Faculty aspires to lead in all areas of research activity and influence local, national and international policy to improve health and social outcomes and health inequalities. We've made a major impact in the world of medical research and become globally recognised for our quality education of over 41,000 doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.

    Within the FMNHS and based at the Alfred precinct in Prahran, the Central Clinical School (CCS) is a centre for clinical and biomedical research and education and a core hub for translational research and medicine, covering a great breadth of subject areas.

    CCS is currently searching for a new School Manager, a role critical to effective leadership and management of professional and academic support services across the School. The School Manager is the most senior professional staff member in the School and is responsible for planning and managing business and professional service functions. This includes budgeting and financial planning, external relationships, recruitment, communications aswell as planning and resources.

    The appointee is expected to work closely with the Head of School and Faculty to attract high calibre researchers and their groups to the School while also ensuring succession planning is in place for key roles.

    As the successful candidate you will be responsible for providing vision, administrative leadership, development opportunities and mentoring to dedicated school and shared services staff to create a highly engaged workforce, whilst also promoting a work culture that supports the ongoing growth and development of the school.

    It is expected that the appointee will have a relevant postgraduate qualification and extensive experience at senior management level within a complex management environment or; an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
