The School of Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Carolina) invites applications for a position in School Counseling. This is a full-time, 12-month, fixed-term appointment.

Responsibilities: Candidates will: (a) Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses during the calendar year (including summer courses) in face-to-face, online, and/or blended formats in School Counseling and related programs. Courses include school counseling theories and techniques, research, and/or counseling curriculum, as well as clinical practicum and internship; (b) Serve as coordinator of the School Counseling program, including student recruitment and admission, field experience coordination, and program assessment and evaluation toward accreditation; © support strategic initiatives across the School and campus; and (d) provide leadership and service at the local, state, and national levels.

Educational Requirements

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program.

Qualifications and Experience

Evidence of capacity to serve as program coordinator is required. Previous or comparable experience in program coordination is highly desirable. A commitment to social justice and equity, a strengths-based practice in the context of the ASCA National Model, knowledge of and experience with CACREP standards, experience as a school counselor (license eligible in NC), and/or ability to enhance collaborative relationships with local schools are preferred.
