About the Role The Scholarships and Awards Coordinator (Engagement Lead) is responsible for administering the Faculty of Science's student awards and scholarships funded through philanthropic income. This includes managing activities associated with the Dean's Honours List, managing the awarding cycle, coordination and support of awards events, committee support and providing expert advice to staff and prospective applicants of the Faculty's student awards and scholarships.

The role will coordinate a wide range of communication activities, aimed at promoting Faculty scholarships and prizes, identifying opportunities for promotion, developing strategies and contributing content where appropriate in addition to maintaining web content.

The incumbent is also responsible for leading process improvement activities and contributing to the Faculty's submission for University endowment reporting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the activities associated with the Dean's Honours List through the coordination of selection requirements, data analysis, nominations, notification of awards and maintenance of associated records and systems
  • Managing the administration of Faculty scholarships and prizes through the coordination of applications, nominations, selection requirements and related documentation, notification of awards, payment processing, and maintenance of associated records and systems
  • Collaborating with School Academic Support Officers and Advancement on the delivery of awards events
  • Supporting completion of annual Faculty Gift Compliance Review
  • About You The successful incumbent will have a demonstrated ability to exercise independent and informed judgement in problem-solving, confidence in making complex decisions and ability to deliver creative solutions and negotiate outcomes.

    They will have the ability to identify and contribute to new initiatives, support change suggested by others and identify opportunities to improve processes and practices to reduce inefficiencies.

    You will also have:

  • A relevant degree with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience
  • Extensive database management experience and conceptual and analytical skills to compile, analyse and manipulate data to develop recommendations and reports
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with and provide clear, professional and accurate information to academic and professional staff, students and external stakeholders
  • Although not essential, demonstrated understanding of scholarship and prize administration, particularly in a higher education environment will be highly regarded
