About The Position:

The School of Business and Economics ( SBE) is internationally accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). We offer students a broad-based education with a global perspective and an emphasis on experiential learning. Reporting directly to the Dean of the School of Business and Economics, the SBE Advisor and Success Coach will be responsible for ensuring the successful recruitment, onboarding, retention, and advisement of students, especially for the online BS Accounting program. This full-time, 12-month position will collaborate with staff and offices throughout the campus including the SBE Academic Coordinator, Admissions, Academic Advising, Learning Center, Student Support Services, Technology Enhanced Learning, and Registrar. As an institution that delivers challenging and high-quality educational experiences to a diverse group of learners, the successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity, inclusion, and equity-minded policies, programs, and practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two (2) years minimum related professional work experience at an educational institution or equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel
  • Willingness and ability to perform some travel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong collaborative, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with students, faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with student success/retention and/or CRM software (preference given to Starfish by Hobsons)
  • Experience with a variety of distance learning delivery platforms (preference given to Blackboard, Moodle, and Brightspace)
  • Experience with creating resources to support the success of online learners
  • Training as an Academic Personal Trainer or in Appreciative Coaching
