    Information Technology Services (ITS) provides RMIT University with Information and Communication Technology systems and services. Our role is to support RMIT's high quality teaching, learning, research and administrative activities. Information Technology is of increasing importance to the research, teaching and learning life of a university, particularly a ‘global university of technology and design' like RMIT.

    About You

    The Salesforce Systems Administrator provides analysis, design, development, implementation and support functions for RMIT's Salesforce instance and integration points. This role coordinates with Operations teams and Release Management functions ITS to deliver releases through the SDLC into production, as well as ensuring all production and non-production environments are appropriately patched and functioning to expectations.

    The Salesforce Systems Administrator works closely with the Salesforce Release Manager, the Environment Manager as well as ITS teams such as Integration, Cloud Engineering, CISO and Change Management to execute their role. They will also be required to work with Salesforce and other vendors on occasion to support RMIT's Salesforce instance, including any Managed Services organisations under RMIT's employ.

    To be successful in this position, you'll have:

  • Significant experience with Salesforce Sales & Service Cloud (essential) and Salesforce Marketing Cloud (desirable).

  • Experience in a similar role managing platform health and performance.

  • Solid understanding of operations observability principles.

  • Experience working in an Agile/DevOps culture.

  • Understanding of CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, AWS CodePipelines).

  • Experience in cloud deployment and management (especially AWS).

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; proven ability to write quality technical documentation.

  • Proven ability to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines and manage complex tasks using project management best practice.

  • Substantial experience in debugging or troubleshooting complex problems while providing effective progress communications and fault escalation procedures.

  • Proven ability to successfully participate as a productive team member, mentor, and work autonomously as required. Strong vendor/ partner management capability, with an ability to negotiate contracts and SLAs for infrastructure initiatives.
