We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Sales and Events Manager to join us at York Conferences, based at the University of York for a 9 Month temporary contract to cover maternity leave.
You will be responsible for Development, Operation and income generation of York Conference and events through set targets for you and your team. You will over oversee the operations of all conferences and events, while maintaining your own portfolio of bookings from repeat clients. You should have a sound understanding of the relationship between all service providers, the success of which will be demonstrated through repeat business and positive feedback.
The successful candidate will actively promote our facilities and liaise closely with clients to ensure the smooth running of events, maintaining excellent customer service and professionalism throughout. You should have excellent administrative and organisational skills and experience of working in a busy sales or events environment. Please see the attached job description for further information on the role. Experience of staff supervision and management is also essential.
Flexibility and occasional evening and weekend work is required. Although the role is based at the University of York campus, the role holder can adopt a hybrid way of working.
