The focus of the research conducted by the Civil Procedure team, within the Leuven Centre for Public Law, is on dispute resolution and resolution in the broad sense of the word. The core concerns of course the rules of civil litigation, but attention is also paid to extrajudicial mechanisms.

Project
  • Conducting doctoral research, completing the programme and obtaining a PhD in the domain of Civil Procedure.
  • Assistance with scientific research (project applications, organisation of conferences, research,...).
  • Assistance with educational activities such as supervising master theses and support with (the improvement of) exams.
  • Profile
  • The candidate has at least a Master of Law degree (or equivalent). Additional foreign degrees are recommended. The candidate obtained good study results. Of course, a special interest in Civil Procedure in general is required.
  • The candidate is fluent multilingual. A good oral and written knowledge of Dutch and English is a minimum.
  • You have skills to critically analyse theoretical texts and empirical studies. You have a fluent writing style.
  • You are able to work independently, but also in a team and you show sufficient initiative.
  • You are able to successfully complete a doctoral research project under supervision.
  • Offer

    We offer a fixed-term employment as an assistant (100%) for two years, renewable up to a maximum of six years. It is the intention that the research results in a PhD after six years. The salary scale linked to this position is salary scale 43.
