The Institute for European Law engages in advanced research at international level in relation to the law of the European Union, with a particular focus on issues of constitutional and comparative law. The Institute's research covers all fields of EU constitutional law, including judicial protection in the EU, fundamental rights, and EU citizenship, as well as aspects of EU substantive law raising topical constitutional questions, including the economic and monetary union, social law, the internal market, the area of freedom, security and justice. The members of the Institute teach a wide range of courses on EU law: Introductions to EU law for bachelor students in the form of lectures as well as tutorials (in Leuven and in Hasselt) and advanced courses on EU Law such as EU Constitutional Law, Judicial Protection in the EU and the External Relations of the EU.

ResponsibilitiesThe Institute for European Law is looking for (a) part-time teaching assistant(s) (from 5%, up to 70%) to provide teaching and organisational support to senior academic staff within the area of EU Law.
This position can be combined with vacancy BAP-2023-271.
The assistant will be expected to support the activities (tutorials, seminars, moot court, master's theses, practical clinics) of the Institute:
Master in Law with a specific focus (and if possible demonstrable knowledge) of European Union law. High academic grades, international degrees or experience, LLM and/or an excellent knowledge of both English and Dutch are considered an asset.

OfferWe offer a part-time employment as teaching assistant (from 5%, up to 70%) for a period running from September/October 2023 to August/September 2024.
The salary scale linked to this position is salary scale 43.
