Shifts Available : UAB Medicine supports work/life balance. The shift available for this unit is: - Full-Time Days : five 8-hour shifts per week

Department Details : UAB's Center for Nursing Excellence is a dedicated resource to improve each nurse's practice throughout their career. It's our formal infrastructure for supporting evidence-based practices and research as well as partnerships and collaborative efforts at UAB, with UAB School of Nursing, and with other nurse service systems throughout our state, region, and beyond. The center also oversees our Nursing Practice Congress, part of our shared governance model, in which UAB nurses are active agents for change, bringing issues to the table, identifying goals, and testing and promoting evidence-based solutions to improve our organization.

Job Description : To accomplish the strategic goals of nursing service working as an advanced nursing professional within the Center for Nursing Excellence. To influence the culture of nursing excellence throughout the organization by engaging in education, quality, evidence-based practice, scholarly activities, regulatory affairs and research. To positively impact and advance nursing practice, quality metrics and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Nursing or related field and five (5) years of related experience required. If Master's degree in related field, must have Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment. Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required.
