Position Summary

The Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) is responsible for providing leadership and supervision for university residence halls housing 250 – 450 residents. Residence Life Coordinators oversee the daily operation of University residential facilities; report directly to the Associate Director of the area and serves as an active and visible Residence Life staff member.

The compensation package includes a competitive annual salary of $35,500 and University benefits which include a comprehensive health plan, life insurance, TIAA-CREF or Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System, and paid leave. A furnished campus apartment with basic cable, utilities, and lawn service provided as a condition of employment . Total package is valued at approximately $55,500 annually. Pets are permitted.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Participate in student development, community development, and leadership development; Assists in the recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation of resident assistants and student leaders; Participates in facility management, marketing, student conduct, and assessment; Participate in a comprehensive training and in-service program; Contributes to a positive, team-oriented, energetic, and flexible work atmosphere; Understands and supports the goals, values, purpose, and mission of the department; Residence Life Coordinators serve as student conduct hearing officers, in an on-call departmental duty rotation, and on committees as assigned; Teach leadership course to new student staff members; Serve on departmental committees; Participate in department-wide events including preview days and move-in/out. Assist with Summer Housing; Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of residence hall living and/or student development; Excellent interpersonal, supervisory, teamwork, and organizational skills; Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; Ability to assume responsibility, work independently, and take initiative; Demonstrated commitment to equity and social justice; Ability to work effectively and positively in an environment characterized by change, including the ability to acquire new knowledge and utilize that information to develop new programs and services; experience working with Google Suite, Maxient, and StarRez.

Required Education and/or Experience

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree with a major in sociology, public administration, or related field; plus two years of experience in program administration or related area. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. Preferred Education and/or Experience

Master's degree in College Student Personnel or related field is highly preferred.
