  • Research and Innovation Centre Pro-Akademia is offering a research fellowship: an annual full-time research position for a Ukrainian researcher specialising in social research (e.g., sociology, psychology, economics). The selected researcher will be invited to perform research at RIC Pro-Akademia within one of our ongoing international research teams, implementing the Polish-Norwegian SmartFood Project.

    The successful candidate will be offered:

  • an employment contract for 1 year, starting from 31/10/2022, with a gross monthly salary of 9,404.60 PLN (over 5,000 PLN net), along with social security and health insurance

  • access to state-of-the-art RIC's research infrastructure located in Konstantynow Lodzki (Lodz Region, Central Poland), as well as research equipment and technical backstopping

  • an invitation to join the SmartFood project research team to engage in social research within the project, e.g., to explore perceptions and practices of households participating in the project experiment, i.e. green food self-production in corridors of a block of flats.

  • Selection process

    There will be a two-stage application procedure:

    1. pre-selection – candidates are kindly requested to send their application (including a CV with the list of publications) via our webpage (https: // www. proakademia.eu/en/smartfoodua-application-form/) by 14th July 2022.

    2. full fellowship proposal – the candidate who passed the pre-selection stage will be invited to collaborate with RIC's SmartFood project team on developing a full fellowship proposal (including ~2 pages description of planned research and expected results) by 20th July 2022. The proposal will be assessed by the Polish National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) Scheme: Support for Ukrainian researchers under Bilateral Fund of ‘Applied Research' Programme.

    The applications will be reviewed and evaluated in a fast-track review process by a selection committee from the RIC's SmartFood project research team. The decision to invite the selected candidate to submit the full fellowship proposal will be based on the recommendation of this committee. The selection will take place as soon as possible. The final funding decision will be made by NCBR.

    About the Host Institution:

    Research and Innovation Centre Pro-Akademia (RIC) is a Polish non-profit research organisation based in Central Poland (Konstantynów Łódzki).     Skills/Qualifications

    Applications are invited from a researcher of Ukrainian citizenship who:

  • holds at least a Master (Магістр) or Specialist (Спеціаліст) degree obtained in Ukraine or other equivalent degree obtained outside Ukraine

  • is fluent in English and Polish languages

  • has a scientific background in social research, e.g., sociology, psychology, economics

  • Specific Requirements

    Applications are invited from a researcher of Ukrainian citizenship who is:

    a) a resident in Poland and arrived in Poland no earlier than 24 February 2022; or

    b) a resident in Ukraine but is unable to continue his/her academic career, or work in research and development (R&D).
