The « Institut de Minéralogie et de Physique des Milieux Condensés »
(Sorbonne Université, Paris, France) seeks applications for a
postdoctoral/engineer position in the field of high pressure physics. The
candidate is expected to carry out experimental research work on the synthesis
and characterization of new materials at high pressure. In particular, he/she
will study the reactivity of molecular systems under high pressure in diamond
anvil cell (DAC) at high temperature in order to produce new materials from
highly reactive mixtures, using laboratory and large facilities (SOLEIL &
ESRF synchrotrons, European XFEL) equipment.

position is filled. The position is expected to start on October 2021.
This position is open to PhD candidates with a strong background in high
pressure (DAC) techniques and experience with standard “in situ” analysis
(Raman and IR spectroscopies, x-ray diffraction). Experience in laser
heating techniques in the DAC is also desirable. A PhD in physics, material
sciences or Earth sciences is required. Successful candidates are expected to
be able to work in both independent and collaborative group environments.
The initial appointment is for 12 months, with possible renewal for 1 year
depending on results and funding availability. The net salary (before income
tax) starts at 2500 € and depends on experience. Qualified candidates should
