  • The control objective is to suppress diffraction mechanisms and associated sound radiation that arise when a turbulent jet grazes the trailing edge of a wing.

    The candidate will be required to build control laws using mean-flow-based linear (resolvent) analysis and system identification. The control strategy is then to be implemented experimentally in the windtunnel Bruit & Vent.

    At the CNRS, the PPRIME Institute, located at the Futuroscope, as part of the European program DJINN (Decrease Jet Installation Noise), the researcher will contribute to the elaboration of a flow-control experiment involving interaction of a turbulent jet with the trailing edge of a wing profile.

    The EU DJINN project is a consortium of 13 partners including the main players in the aeronautics industry in Europe. The objectives of the project are to advance the understanding and modelling of installation noise. More information on the website https: // djinn.online/

    The UPR 3346 "Institut Pprime" created on 1 January 2010 depends on INSIS at CNRS as operator; the INP is a secondary institute. A specific agreement recognizes the three institutions, CNRS (supervision), University of Poitiers and ISAE-ENSMA (partners). There are around 600 staff: 200 EC, 40 researchers, 100 ITA/IATOS, 180 PhD students and 40 fixed-term contracts.

    The research work will be carried out within the D2-FTC department, Fluids, Thermal and Combustion, which corresponds to a continuum ranging from fluid mechanics, inert, anisothermal, reactive, to effects related to complementary physical properties of thermics, combustion and detonation.

    Eligibility criteria

    The Researcher must have knowledge and experience in the following areas:

    - fluid mechanics,

    - aeroacoustics,

    - stability theory and control.
