Position Summary: Working with a high degree of independence, to oversee projects within the laboratory and to assume responsibility for the day to day operation of lab activities. To collect, enter, summarize, analyze and interpret data. To contribute significantly to the planning/design of studies and to help develop long or short term goals. Seeking highly organized individual who will be responsible for core lab maintenance and operation. Hours may need to be flexible as infrequent evenings, weekends and holidays may be required. Job duties may involve exposure to body fluids and/or tissue.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing buffers, maintaining reagent stocks and lab inventory, setting up lab for procedures, learning core flow, process, and procedures to fill in with project teams as necessary, experience with sterile technique and/or cell culture, and clean-up of lab at close of procedures;
  • To operate automated pipetting stations, perform routine molecular biology procedures including RT-PCR, PCR, cloning, submit samples for sequencing, and perform various quality control assessments;
  • To maintain mammalian cell cultures, perform cell transfections and flow cytometry experiments;
  • To maintain accurate sample tracking, record keeping, and database entry;
  • To interface with the principal investigators, other laboratory personnel, and staff across disciplines to coordinate reagent development, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • (Annual Salary Range: $47,486.40 - $85,000.00)


    Doctorate in a related field OR Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience OR Bachelor s degree in related field and four (4) years of related experience OR Associate's degree in related field and six (6) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

    Preferred Skills/Licensure/Certifications/Degree:

  • Someone with previous experience in a research laboratory is preferred.
