At the School of Innovation, Design and Engineering our students are studying to be for example innovators, entrepreneurs, illustrators, communications officers, network technicians and engineers. Here we have the research specialisations of Embedded Systems, and Innovation and Product Realisation. Our work takes place in cooperation with and in strategic agreements with companies, organisations and public authorities in the region.

Position description

The researcher will develop research on the reliability aspects related to the configuration of deterministic Ethernet networks and to the set of standards defined by the Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) Task Group. In particular, the researcher will work on the development of a Central Network Control element (CNC) for Time-Sensitive Networking technologies, for the dynamic adaptation of the network in the presence of faults; development of a highly reliable communication architecture for electrical substations; and modeling and evaluation of reliability of the systems that utilize TSN.

Qualification requirements

The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar. Specific requirements for the position include good knowledge of TSN and real-time systems. The applicant should be fluent in English, both written and spoken
