Description

Summary

As directed, to independently set up and perform experiments and procedures in support of lab goals. To collect, enter, summarize and analyze data. To monitor results, detect and report unusual outcomes and suggest modifications. To develop and improve techniques for the lab.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designs, performs, and interprets experiments to accomplish the aims of several projects involving Cytomegalovirus
  • Performs cell culture and animal experiments utilizing but not limited to DNA, RNA, and protein analysis
  • Performs experiments using cell culture and other in vitro techniques, including western blotting, ELISA, PCR, and immunohistochemistry
  • Writes proposals, presentations, and manuscripts describing the results of the research
  • Performs general lab duties, i.e. dishware, supply inventory, compliance issues with local and governmental entities. IACUC, etc.
  • Assists graduate students, faculty, and staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned

    • Annual Salary Range: $35,568 - $59,800

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Master's degree in a related field OR Bachelor s degree in related field and two (2) years of related experience OR Associate's degree in related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
