Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a Researcher III to work in
an immunology research lab in the Department of Microbiology. The position
will include working with human and/or animal samples.
General Responsibilities
As directed:
To independently set up and perform experiments and procedures in support
of lab goals.
To collect, enter, summarize, and analyze data.
To monitor results, detect and report unusual outcomes and suggest
modifications.
To develop and improve techniques for the lab.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Sets up and performs experiments and procedures in support of lab goals.
Develops and improves techniques for the lab.
Contributes to planning/design of studies.
Collects, enters, summarizes and analyzes data.
Monitors results, detects and reports unusual outcomes and suggests modifications.
May assist in planning long or short term goals/fiscal management.
Performs maintenance of lab equipment and supplies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary Range $35,570.00 - $59,800.00 annually
Qualifications
Requirements
Master's degree in a related field
OR Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related
experience
OR Associate's degree in a related field and four (4) years of
related experience
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Experience in basic laboratory setting for those holding a Bachelor's degree
Preferences
Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Cell
Biology, Molecular Biology or any other related life sciences
Experience in basic laboratory setting for those holding a Master's degree
Experience working with animal and human samples
Experience working in a wet lab
