As Researcher Developer, Fellows, you will coordinate a programme of support and development for prospective and existing Fellows at the University of York. You will work with a wide range of professional services and academic colleagues across the University; with early career researchers on a 1:1 basis and through group training and networking sessions; and with external contacts including fellowship funders. This is an exciting opportunity to undertake a varied role involving professional development, community building, project management and collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders.
The role sits within the Building Research and Innovation Capacity (BRIC) team in the Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange Directorate. The team is responsible for initiatives to support positive research culture across the institution and for professional development support for researchers at all career stages. The Researcher Developer, Fellows, will work alongside other researcher developers focusing on the early career stage, and will act as the primary source of professional support for the design, implementation and evaluation of the University of York Fellowship Programme (https: // www. york.ac.uk/research/fellowships/) .
You will coordinate all stages of the Fellowship lifespan which includes:
The role would suit someone who is a confident communicator, can manage multiple projects and responsibilities, and is flexible and team-oriented. You will need excellent interpersonal skills and a strong interest in research, ideally with previous experience in supporting research staff. You will enjoy maximising the potential of individuals and will have the skills and experience to support and nurture a community of researchers and offer constructive feedback on fellowship applications.
For informal enquiries please contact Megan McLoughlin, Head of the BRIC team: [email protected]
