Position Summary

The person in this position is primarily responsible for processing biological specimens collected from patients enrolled in clinical trials. Some patients will be HIV-positive. Specimens are processed by specific protocols that require all accompanying paperwork to be filled out correctly-on the day of processing and double-checked. Some specimens must be processed in a time- sensitive manner. Some specimens will be packaged into kits that must be shipped the same day. Data about the specimens is entered into the Laboratory Data Management System (LDMS) to ensure that the database reflects the processing that occurred and what aliquots were stored.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Knowledge of aseptic technique. Willing to work with infectious materials.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in a biological or chemical science is highly desired. Prior experience with human specimen processing and the LDMS.
