The research technician will be required to carry out NIH funded research

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Individuals must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Bacterial growth and genetics – work with glassware, solutions, DNA, PCR, Cloning – as needed

2. Bacterial assays – observation, microscopy as needed

3. Protein purification – molecular techniques – as needed

4. Protein assays – Might require use of radioisotopes as needed 5. work with students ) organize work for students and interact as appropriate – daily 6. documentation of work – writing in notebooks, data analysis – daily

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or Master's in Biological sciences, Microbiology or Molecular Biology..

Essential Job Duties

Job Duties

Organize and perform microbial assays and biochemical experiments as directed. Make solutions and use microscopes, biochemical and molecular techniques, a variety of pumps, detectors, software and visual observation to record data.

Percentage Of Time 70 Job Duties

Assist with watering, feeding and animal husbandry, as needed. Injection of animals for experiments is essential.

Analyze results via statistical methods and draw figures.
