The person in this position is primarily responsible for processing biological specimens including, but not limited to blood, urine, genital secretions, and feces collected from patients enrolled in clinical trials. Some patients may have HIV or COVID-19. Strict adherence to safety requirements including proper wearing of PPE is required. Specimens are processed by specific protocols that require all accompanying paperwork to be filled out correctly on the day of processing and double-checked. Data about the processed specimens is entered into the Laboratory Data Management System (LDMS) or another online tracking system to ensure that the database reflects the processing that occurred and what aliquots were stored. Work site may be off campus.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Knowledge of aseptic technique. Willing to work with infectious materials.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in a biological or chemical science is highly desired. Prior experience with human specimen processing and the LDMS.
