Job Summary:

The Carchman Lab under Principal Investigator: Evie Carchman M.D. https: // www. surgery.wisc.edu/staff/evie-carchman/, is a basic science research lab that works with mouse models of anal cancer. The lab in the Department of Surgery, School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking an entry-level Research Technician to conduct experiments with limited supervision. The Research Technician will perform daily tasks with laboratory mice independently and work alongside Research Specialists and Post-doctoral Researchers. Daily tasks include assisting in management of mouse colonies, maintaining detailed data entry, and performing molecular analyses (DNA extraction, PCR, qRT-PCR, Flow Cytometry). Other duties include but are not limited to, participating in laboratory meetings, training and/or supervising Undergraduate students in lab, and assisting in literary research relevant to ongoing experiments/assisting in writing manuscripts.

Education:

Preferred Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications:

1-2 years of basic science lab experience required. Experience with laboratory mouse handling preferred.
