Department Description

The Center for Alcohol Studies conducts research on the biological mechanisms involved in alcohol exposure and that contribute to the pathology of alcohol use disorders.

Position Description


This position will participate in planning, conducting, analyzing, and reporting the results of experiments to explore the genesis and spectrum of birth defects caused by prenatal alcohol exposure in a mouse model. In addition, this position will include animal colony management and daily laboratory operations.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Work experience in a research laboratory. Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

B.A./B.S. in Biology or related field. The preferred qualifications include supervisory experience, and experience in rodent colony maintenance, molecular biology.
